Briefly review the description of what is expected of you for this activity on the summer reading assignment document. Your goal is to create a balance in which you truly show understanding of the text and related discussions while also remembering that this is meant to be a fun and enjoyable activity.
What takes place here is meant to be a discussion. I will pose questions; your responses should contain a blending of two components.
First of all, make sure you specifically answer the question in manner that takes you into the "exemplary" portion of the rubric.
Secondly, and equally important, you should take into consideration what others have written and incorporate it into what you are saying.
It is perfectly acceptable to say, "I really like what Ralph said about _," or "Rhonda, why did you way that Wooka is a flat character? I saw him as having a great deal of depth because...."
Comments and phrases that include other replies are what make this feel like a discussion with real humans.

Some of you were wondering what types of articles to get. I've linked below some of the examples for each category. In terms of movie/book reviews for the op-ed pieces, try to limit yourself to no more than four. In addition, note the length of the news articles as a guide for what is appropriate.
